We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Director to join our team in the Aerospace OEM industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of establishing and managing quality management systems, directing audits with major Aerospace OEMs, and possessing in-depth knowledge of industry-specific processes such as investment casting and material testing. This role requires exceptional leadership abilities, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of regulatory requirements in the aerospace sector.
Salary: 200k - 250k
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and manage AS-9100 / ISO9001 quality management systems and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Direct and oversee audits, ensuring adherence to contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with primary Aerospace OEM customers, understanding their qualification processes and ensuring alignment with our quality objectives.
- Utilize extensive knowledge of investment casting industry processes to drive continuous improvement and ensure product quality meets or exceeds customer expectations.
- Oversee laboratory equipment and practices for testing super alloy materials, ensuring accurate and reliable results in compliance with industry standards.
- Lead efforts related to export controls and compliance, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and facilitating smooth international transactions.
- Lead the establishment and implementation of a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS), incorporating best practices and industry standards.
- Develop and implement work instructions, quality plans (QPs), process control plans, and other necessary documentation to ensure consistent and reliable manufacturing processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in quality management roles within the aerospace industry.
- Proven experience establishing and managing AS-9100 / ISO9001 quality management systems.
- Demonstrated success in directing audits with major Aerospace OEMs.
- Extensive knowledge of investment casting processes and materials testing.
- Familiarity with export controls and compliance regulations.
- Strong understanding of quality management principles and techniques.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Certification(s) such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Quality Management are preferred.
