SHIPPING SUPERVISOR

Summary:

Metal Sales is the nation's largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America. Our Denver branch located in Frederick, CO has an opening for a Shipping Supervisor.

Regular hours for this position are Monday through Friday 6am to 3:30pm. This is a salaried position. Working overtime and on weekends may be required.

The primary focus of this position is to oversee day-to-day shipping and packing processes in the branch. Success in this role guarantees our customers receive the right product, without damage, and the shipping processes are conducted in a safe working environment.

You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Coordinating and controlling all aspects of the shipping area which may also include packaging operations
• Directly supervising shipping personnel; supporting responsibilities include staffing, training, performance and time tracking, coaching, and evaluations to develop and improve the team
• Helping to maintain quality and accurate inventory control with strict attention to detail
• Verifying compliance with Metal Sales loading requirements and our inventory control system to ensure loads are complete and delivered on time
• Ensuring supply levels for packaging material is adequate
• Ensuring loading process of both commercial and Metal Sales trucking is safe, damage-free, and in compliance with DOT guidelines
• Supervise customer will call staff to ensure a positive customer interaction and compliance with Metal Sales procedures
• Helping to resolve inventory and customer inquiries through research and cycle counts
• Assisting with other responsibilities and department needs as warranted

The most qualified candidates will have:

• At least 2 years’ experience in shipping/distribution environment; manufacturing experience strongly preferred
• Successful experience directly and/or indirectly leading a team of shipping and packaging personnel
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
• Solid computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• A strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to effectively multi-task
• Effective and proactive communication skills, both verbal and written
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
