Inventory Coordinator

Best-known for the vessel fleets it produces for the U.S. Armed Forces and allies around the globe, Metal Shark has expanded its focus to include state, local, and commercial operators across a wide range of markets. Today, the Louisiana-based company produces a wider range of specialty vessels than perhaps any comparable yard. Key markets served include fire rescue, law enforcement, military, passenger vessels, pilot boats, various workboat operators and other specialty operators.

We are in need of an Inventory Coordinator as described below.

Job Title: Inventory Coordinator

Reports to: Stockroom Foreman

Location: Jeanerette

Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly

Hours: Full Time, 6:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. Monday-Friday

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage/organize parts in boat cages
• Gather all parts (consumables included) for assemblies and stage in designated areas for outfitting in an orderly and efficient manner
• Communicate with all parties in outfitting to ensure inventory quality, efficiency, and accuracy throughout the entire boat build
• Parts runner for inventory to boats. (Objective is to keep people on the boats as much as possible. Parts to people not people to parts)
• Coordinate with Forman/superintendent to resolve inventory issues in outfitting (SRF’s and BOM changes)
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times
• Operate cranes and forklift to move inventory and assisting in boat moves in Outfitting (Tractor if necessary)
• Efficiently manage time to balance duties day to day
• Ability to follow boat drawings and identify parts
• Follow all PPE guidelines in production shop
• Coordinate with Consumable cage to maintain inventory and have knowledge of parts for production

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
