What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Specialist position at METAL TREATERS INC?

Job Summary: Monitor the quality of all division heat-treating processes and the Receiving/Order Entry/Shipping Division.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customers and investigate root cause(s) of failed products and/or processes.
  • ISO/AS9100 internal auditing.
  • Communicate with management, supervision and employees concerning quality issues.
  • Review different organization’s specifications and ensure adherence in procedures.
  • Quality laboratory and production hardness testing.
  • Assists in administering The ABC’s of Heat-Treating classes and training functions as directed.
  • Complete required quality assurance paperwork.
  • Ensures security and proper use of company equipment, tooling and supplies.
  • Adheres to all safety standards and procedures, and maintains an ongoing awareness of safety for self and others in assigned work areas.
  • Participates in company sponsored training as required.
  • Assist with verification of corrective actions taken to ensure they are effective.

Qualifications:

  • Auditing experience.
  • Ability to work well with customers and division employees.
  • Attention to detail.

Working Conditions: Office and factory environment, may encounter dirt, dust, oil, processing chemicals and varying temperatures.

Physical Requirements:

  • Considerable amount of walking.
  • Climbing stairs.
  • Able to sit at a desk for long intervals.

Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
