Job Posting for Production Group Leader- 2nd shift at METALSA STRUCTURAL PRODUCTS
I. Mission/Objective
Provide leadership to Teammates through the Metalsa culture to support our customer
II. Essential Functions and Key Accountabilities
Coordinate and oversee rotation of production activities in the press area to ensure customers’ needs are met
Monitor standardized work is being followed
Establish production standards and monitor individual tech performance to ensure area goals are met
Plan ahead changeovers to minimize disruption of production
Work as a liaison between Press Tech’s and Tooling Tech’s to minimize downtime
Prepare and present presentations to large and small groups
Conduct effective evaluations and monitor the skill level of the press room Product Techs
Conduct training for Team Mates
Gathering of information and auditing of daily reports
Additional responsibilities as required – this position is subject to change as the needs of the department change
SAFETY
Proactively improve safety in the plant to achieve plant goal of zero accidents
Facilitate and develop topics for communication at daily safety meetings
Champion the timely resolution of all safety concerns and / or near misses
Work with maintenance to ensure all equipment has proper p.m. and is safe to operate
Enforce all area and plant safety procedures
QUALITY
Work closely with the quality area to create and maintain systems that ensure quality products
Support Team Mates in their efforts to consistently exceed customer expectations, maximize production and quality while minimizing downtime and scrap
Communicate all potential quality concerns
Enforce all area and plant quality procedures
Maintain all customer and TS requirements
HOUSEKEEPING
Maintain the appearance of a World Class facility
Actively support full implementation of the 5S initiatives
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT/ TRAINING
Actively encourage participation in idea program by effectively resolving and implementing Team mate ideas
Identify training opportunities to develop and maintain a highly motivated and capable team
Lead efforts to reduce cost and improve efficiency to meet planned / plant objectives
III. JOB REQUIREMENTS
Academic & Experience
High school degree / diploma
2 years of post-high school education or combination of education and manufacturing experience
Experience with automated manufacturing, stamping equipment, and press tooling
Participation in a significant role on the MOS, either deploying a practice, training in a tool or methodology, leading problem solving or other applied leadership experience.

Proficient computer skills/Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point)
Knowledge of Processing systems

Lean Manufacturing (TPS)
Quality Management Systems
Human Development Management
Cross functional leadership
Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability Management Fundamentals.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or touch.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
Normal vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to visually focus.
