Extrusion Team Lead

We are currently seeking Extrusion Team Lead to provide support to Meteor Sealing Systems, LLC manufacturing team. The Extrusion Team Lead will support daily quality activities and processes in relation to the extrusion department and scheduling requirements. Will support manufacturing process issues in order to achieve and maintain quality standards that meet the expectations of our customers.
Available Shifts:
2nd Shift (3pm - 11pm)
Essential Job Functions and Basic Duties:
- Direct cellular work area and extrusion crews in achieving production requirements and maintaining quality standards that meet the expectations of our customers.
- Ensure that all quality systems, work instructions, and set-up instructions are being followed and maintained.
- Monitor and evaluate associate’s performance and aptitude to perform the required job tasks.
- Assist Human Resources Department in all facets of associate orientation, training, discipline, and safety issues. Model and uphold the guidelines of the associate handbook and associate safety handbook and administer discipline when necessary.
- Ensure the work rules and bargaining unit contract are abided by and maintain communication with Team Leaders and Supervisors to ensure awareness and knowledge of all activities in production. Support real-time booking and material movement as established by the Company.
- Ability to stop production when non-conforming products are found and required to investigate such products while communicating findings with Management. Perform in-process and final inspection audits as established by the Quality Department in conjunction with the Quality Team Leader.
- Operate appropriate test equipment and possess knowledge of all facets of the manufacturing process. Work within the extrusion lines and cells while helping in areas such as stocking, material handling, changeovers, production, and all areas that relate to maintaining our efficiency.
- Ensure parts for our customers are ready by delivery dates. Provide daily status reports of team activities and productivity as well as scrap issues when they arise.
- Create an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort. Provide the team with a vision of the tasks and objectives required.
- Motivate and inspire team members and lead by example. Support decisions made by Management and/or Supervisors when handling and dealing with questions and concerns from team members.
Preferred Education and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Extrusion Experience in a Manufacturing Environment.
- Familiarity of process flow as it relates to lean manufacturing.
- The ability to consistently meet deadlines is required.
- Effective verbal, non-verbal, negotiation, and written communication skills are required.
- The ability to sustain a high degree of professionalism while interacting with internal and external customers is required.
- Effective attention to detail, problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills are required.

- Exposure to moderate noise levels is probable.
