Project Accountant

Methuen Construction is seeking a Project Accountant to provide essential support to our Accounting and Finance team. The Project Accountant will play an integral role within the Accounting Team and act as a liaison with the Operations side of the business. The Project Accountant will provide quality financial services including billings, job cost analysis & reporting, compliance & contract management, and accounts payable requisition processing.

Your Role

• Review and code invoices for approval and reconcile vendor statements and discrepancies
• Process AIA forms
• Monthly review of job cost activity ensuring consistent and proper coding.
• Prepare and process contracts, change orders, purchase orders
• Extract pertinent information from Agreements/Contracts for implementation in various processes
• Enter budgets, commitments, and changes thereto and Invoices into Construction Accounting software
• Prepare and obtain lien waivers
• Maintain- Paper and electronic records
• Liaise with consultants, contractors/sub-contractors, and vendors
• Assemble and file compliance reports, job specific sales tax exemption returns
• Assist in the review and preparation monthly owners’ requisitions
• Perform additional assignments and support as deemed necessary by supervisor
• Manage company credit card accounts to ensure efficient and accurate reporting
• Maintain vendor records and perform annual 1099 reporting
• Assist with sales tax filings and reports

Your Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree and/or 3-5 years of Accounting experience
• Construction accounting experience preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Experience using Sage 300, Timberline, TimberScan, Procore a plus
• Concur/Comdata experience a plus
