MetLife's Global Technology Shared Services (GTSS) requires a PMO Analyst to perform a variety of accounting and project level functions related to the Global Infrastructure and Information Security areas. The department is a fast-paced work environment with numerous non-routine processes where associates must be quick learners, very organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting job responsibilities. This role will be responsible for working across the organization with various key stakeholders to ensure budget and forecast accuracy, appropriate billing to project codes, and appropriate alignment to cost centers. The candidate will be given the freedom to simplify and optimize the current processes. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to collaborate and communicate across multiple areas and initiate/implement improvements in a variety of financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Project financial monitoring. Liaise with individual partners to reconcile variances
Leading and coordinating system and process enhancements to improve efficiency of reporting processes
Lead financial reviews with IT Partners. Proactively identify risks and issues, make recommendations, drive, and implement solutions
Serve as the financial and metric development resource for GTSS. Perform monthly financial and operational reporting for projects and programs with various partners to capture key inputs and reconcile data
Manage and create monthly financial reports across the GI and IS portfolios. Reconcile budget, forecast, and actuals. Participate in monthly financial/operating reviews
Identify gaps in processes and make recommendations for improvements. Identify areas of simplification within the financial process, develop and implement solutions
Facilitate tracking and communication of useful financial and metric information to support business decision-making
Assist with annual GI Optimization effort to ensure expense saving targets are tracked and met
Assist with annual planning efforts by providing reports
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or relevant field with a solid understanding of applied accounting and finance concepts
2 years accounting or finance experience
Experience working cohesively in a team
Effective decision-making skills, sound judgment, and ability to work independently
Proficiency with advanced data manipulation in Excel
Strong Communication Skills
Preferred:
Experience with Clarity and Apptio
Understanding of portfolio, program, and project management and agile methodologies
