Position Summary

AT / FP threat specialist that shall monitor overall Antiterrorism posture to ensure adequate protection is provided for all phases of planning, design, preparation, training, operations, and safety of personnel.

Specialist shall be versed in the Core Vulnerability Assessment Management Program (CVAMP) to include knowledge of the DoD Unified Facility Criteria (UFC) criterion.

Personnel shall be designated as AT / FP Specialists and may be required to provide services outside of normal duty hours.

Essential Functions Statement :

Provide an AT / FP threat specialist that shall monitor overall Antiterrorism posture to ensure adequate protection is provided for all phases of planning, design, preparation, training, operations and safety of personnel.

Specialist shall be versed in the Core Vulnerability Assessment Management Program (CVAMP) to include knowledge of the DoD Unified Facility Criteria (UFC) criterion.

Personnel shall be designated as AT / FP Specialists and may be required to provide services outside of normal duty hours.

Monitor overall Anti-terrorism posture to ensure adequate protection is provided for all phases of planning, design, preparation, training, operations and safety of personnel.

Develop technological projections of threat organizations and threat systems employment for use in scenarios, models, and training in support of Force Protection.

  • Support the interpretation of the meaning and potential impact of collected intelligence and threat data. (Reference SOF SOP).

Coordinate with deploying units to review TVAs and establish a plan to have TVAs validated or created, where applicable.

  • Coordinate with the J2-CI (Counterintelligence) and provide data inputs for the threat working group to conduct analysis of threat information and to recommend appropriate response measures as mission requires.
  • Adhere to and comply with the 32 AT Standards published in the 2017 USOUTHCOM Regulation 34-2, Antiterrorism Program and Force Protection Condition (FPCON) System, and the 2015 USSOCOM Directive 525-4, Antiterrorism Program.

The AT / FP threat specialist shall be prepared and poised to plan, coordinate, support, execute, and / or brief at the GO level, on any of the 32 Standards listed in these publications.

Travel OCONUS to validate / update Threat Vulnerability Assessments when a level 2 AT / FP qualified individual is not available at forward location.

Estimate 2-3 OCONUS trips annually, not to exceed 5 days each trip. Will accompany and / or visit government personnel.

Competency Statements

  • Active SECRET clearance and be able to obtain a TS / SCI within 120 days of hire.
  • 10 years prior military experience, experience working in a SOF headquarters required.
  • 3 years SOUTHCOM AOR experience in operations
  • Must be Level II AT / FP certified.
  • Graduate of all the following courses : Conventional Physical Security / Crime Prevention CourseDoD Security Engineering Planning and Standards Blast Resistant Structural DesignVAPO Vulnerability Assessment Protection Option
  • Entry Control Facilities / Access Control Points (ECF / ACP) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with Defense Critical Infrastructure Program (DCIP), and Risk Assessment / Risk Response / Critical Asset Identification Process

Special Conditions

  • If offered employment, you will be required to submit to a background investigation.
  • Employees performing sensitive requirements must be able to pass a drug test as a condition of employment and submit to random drug testing throughout the contract performance period as per FAR 252.

Supervisory Responsibility

This role has no supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

May require OCONUS travel.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs.

Exempt employees must have the ability to be on-call and available outside of typical working hours, as business needs require.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Must be able to accomplish any and all duties with little or no assistance. Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.

Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time.
