Job Posting for Environmental Technician/Scientist at Metric Engineering
Metric Engineering, Inc. is seeking a full-time entry-level Environmental Scientist with 0-2 years of experience for our South Florida (Miami) office. The position involves providing statewide support across a wide variety of Metric projects including work involving wetlands, tree resources, mangroves, environmental permitting, contamination reviews, threatened/endangered species, construction compliance monitoring, and NEPA documentation.

Day-to-Day:
- field surveys and site inspections (often in adverse weather conditions and outdoor environments);
- GIS analysis;
- environmental documentation and background research;
- technical report writing/editing;
- data processing, filing, and analysis; and
- coordination with regulatory agencies.
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. or B.A. degree in natural or environmental sciences or planning (or similar field);
- Ability to work long hours and walk long distances in outdoor Florida environments; and
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
Preferred Capabilities:
- familiarity with ArcGIS;
- plant/animal species identification.
