Event Security Guard

Metro Security Services is a reputable security guard company committed to creating safe and inclusive spaces for all individuals. We organize and manage various events, including several LGBTQ establishments during Rhode Island Pride, which celebrates and supports the LGBTQ community.

Job Description:
As an Event Security Guard during Rhode Island Pride, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, security, and overall success of the event. You will work alongside a team of dedicated professionals to create a welcoming and secure environment for all attendees, performers, and staff.

Responsibilities:

• Crowd Management: Monitor and manage crowds to prevent overcrowding, ensure orderly conduct, and facilitate the flow of foot traffic.
• Entry and Exit Monitoring: Monitor entry and exit points to prevent unauthorized access and ensure that attendees comply with event regulations.
• Bag Checks: Conduct thorough bag checks to prevent prohibited items from entering the event premises.
• Patrol and Surveillance: Patrol designated areas to deter and detect any suspicious activity or behavior.
• Emergency Response: Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, including medical incidents, disturbances, or evacuations.
• Conflict Resolution: Resolve conflicts and disputes peacefully and professionally, utilizing de-escalation techniques when necessary.
• Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with fellow security personnel, event organizers, and law enforcement agencies.
• First Aid Assistance: Provide basic first aid assistance to individuals in need and coordinate with medical personnel for more serious medical incidents.
• Adherence to Policies: Enforce event policies, rules, and regulations consistently and impartially.
• Report Writing: Document all incidents, observations, and actions taken in detailed written reports.

Requirements:

• Security Experience: Previous experience in event security, crowd management, or a related field is preferred.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, as well as lift and carry heavy objects if necessary.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
• Team Player: Capable of working effectively within a team environment and collaborating with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
• Reliability: Punctuality, dependability, and a strong work ethic are essential.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
