Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. 

Position Summary 

This position will support Safety initiatives at the facility and assist in the completion of recurring tasks, receipt of employee injury reports, and submission and follow-up on worker’s compensation reports and claims. Additionally, a successful Safety Coordinator will facilitate education to employees and/or managers on safety programs, and work to ensure all programs are being followed consistently to ensure a safe work environment for all. 

Job Description

  • Support the re-stocking of safety vending machines across the facility 
  • Administrative duties such as data entry into safety systems and tracking 
  • Complete routine administrative checks across the facility 
  • Ensure PPE and other safety items are ordered, received, and proper stock levels are maintained 
  • Upload SDS sheets into safety systems 
  • Upload training records into LMS/HRIS systems as completed for proper recordkeeping 
  • Coordinates and enforces EHS programs 
  • Promotes safety awareness with employees 
  • Understands federal, state, and local safety regulations to maintain compliance with OSHA guidelines 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience 
  • Excellent time management skills and organizational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to complete assigned recurring tasks completely and accurately with minimal oversight
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (specifically Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Computer skills to include online activities and data entry, creation of digital signage and training materials, and online ordering and tracking of supplies
  • Strong desire to learn more about safety regulations and requirements as they apply to a Greenhouse environment

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bilingual in Spanish 

Job Setting & Physical Demands

Employees in this position work primarily indoors but may be required to ambulate between locations within a large outdoor environment. The role is largely sedentary, however some administrative duties such as filing are required. This would require the ability to lift files, open cabinets, bend or stand as necessary. To perform the job successfully the candidate must be able to use a computer and other standard office equipment such as phones, cameras, copiers, fax machines, etc. Fluency in the English language and the ability to see, speak, hear, read, and write are required. The ability to travel by all means of transportation to meet business needs is required. Work hours are traditional work hours but may be adjusted on occasion to accommodate seasonal work requirements and occasional support and training for night shift employees.
