Job Summary
As a member of the General Ledger Accounting team, the Senior Accountant will reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts, perform month-end close duties and reporting to subsidiaries.
Essential Job Duties
- Prepare account reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts monthly using Blackline.
- Prepare non-standard and assigned standard journal entries by the month-end close deadlines.
- Reconcile intercompany accounts and obtain confirmation from subsidiaries monthly.
- Prepare payments, commissions, billbacks, credit memo and prepare related journal entries monthly.
- Prepare elimination entries.
- Enter Inventory adjustments when necessary.
- Prepare inventory reporting and reconciliation for all warehouses.
- Prepare inventory in transit reporting and reconciliation.
- Reconcile accrued liability accounts for MUS and MCV.
- Book entries for commissions and reconcile related general ledger accounts.
- Assist in the Interim and Year end audits.
- Assist the staff accountant in reconciling the Federal and State tax reports to book assets.
- Perform New Item Releases
- Participate in year-end inventory close.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in business with emphasis in Accounting or equivalent.
- Requires 5 years of General Accounting experience.
- Must possess strong computer skills with a advance level of proficiency in Excel (Xlookup, Pivots, if statements).
- Knowledge of Word, Apprise software, Internet and e-mail preferred.
- Must be detail oriented and possess ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must possess organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Must possess time management skills and be able to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English both in verbal and written formats.
- Must be able to interface with all levels of Meyer employees and outside vendors.
- Must posses mental and physical capacities necessary to perform the job duties.
Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily indoors. Lighting is artificial. Equipment used includes standard office equipment i.e. computer, telephone, adding machine, printer, and copier. Physical demands include sitting, repetitive use of hands, grasping, fine dexterity, walking, standing, bending over, reaching overhead, and lifting to 10 lbs. Hours and days are primarily Monday through Friday with some overtime and weekends required. Position requires contact with some Meyer employees and outside vendors.
