What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Manager position at MFS Supply?
The Operations Manager’s job to ensure our facility is running well and efficiently, with a smooth proficiency in service that meets the expectations and needs of our company and its customers.
Essential Functions/Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop the company’s receiving, fulfillment, production, and assembly operations.
- Achieve required KPI’s as directed.
- Approve all new hires to ensure skill set as well as allowable per budgeted FTE’s.
- Ensure proper training is provided for all employees.
- Oversees cycle counts and inventory accuracy.
- Maintains facility and equipment.
- Responsible for staffing and training of new employees.
- Perform Quality Control checks on all current and new operations to meet the company’s expectations.
- Continues to develop and maintain production scheduling to meet customer’s needs.
- Develop processes to maintain a neat, clean, and organized warehouse
- Leads workplace safety efforts and ensures safety meetings are held regularly and the facility is OSHA compliant.
- Completes ongoing reports to ensure communication to management illustrating KPI’s and metrics.
- Maintains confidentiality of all company/client information.
- Attends necessary company meetings, training sessions as needed.
Working Conditions/Environment:
Works primarily in a warehouse environment where the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, lift upwards of 35 lbs. regularly, walk, reach, grasp and bend while moving about their workstation and facility. May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The employee may periodically be exposed to non-ambient temperatures, odors, or dust. All required PPE must always be worn while in the warehouse environment in accordance with company policies and safety standards.
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- 5 years as Operations or Plant Manager
- Proficient in Office365
- NetSuite a plus
- Forklift certification a plus.
- Forklift Trainer certification a plus.
- Impactful strategic leader
- Focus on continuous process improvement and driving efficiencies
- Research, problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Proven experience using oral and written communication skills to effectively resolve problems
