Overview:
- Performs maintenance service and repairs in plumbing, painting, machine servicing, and electrical or vehicle servicing.
- Is knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures in the above-mentioned areas.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Works under immediate supervision.
- Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.
- Perform onsite Isotainer inspection for MPCA ISO fleet, and coordinate with Certified Inspection agency, Production, and Logistic departments to meet all requirements for ISO inspection.
- Reports directly to a supervisor or manager.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs a wide variety of general building maintenance repairs and services.
- Schedule and complete the Preventative Maintenance Program.
- Provides technical guidance/direction to other maintenance personnel.
- Coordinate special projects as directed by the Technical Manager.
- Coordinate and perform onsite ISO Inspection for MPCA container fleet including initial 2.5-year and full 5-year inspection requirements.
- Maintain all certifications required for confined entry as part of a 5-year ISO inspection task.
- Install/replace light bulbs, cabinets, paint, replace pumps, and other production equipment.
- Responsible for alerting the Technical Supervisor of any unusual occurrences and/or damage that may have taken place or might occur.
- Maintain a professional courteous manner with all vendors and contractors.
- Establishes, implements, and modifies predictive and preventative maintenance scheduling systems.
- Assure safety standards are used.
- Special projects and other responsibilities.
- Maintain monthly inspection and maintenance of HVACs and replace filters and parts as needed.
- Complies with all safety policies and procedures.
- Awareness of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
- Performs other duties as required and assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
- Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Education, Experience, and Certifications:
- A High School diploma or GED equivalent is required, as well as related post-high school education/training.
- Requires 3 years of experience in the field or a related area.
- Experience in the Chemical manufacturing industry is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at a time.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on an as-needed basis.
