It is the primary responsibility of the Poker Room Chip Runner to greet all guests as they enter the room. The Runner may also assist the Poker Brush person and assist in maintaining the poker table banks. All duties are to be performed in accordance with federal, state, local laws, regulations, and ordinances, as well as department and Company policies, practices, and procedures.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet customers as they enter the room and answer questions that may arise
- Assist in the placement of guests into games
- Get players checks and maintain poker table banks to ensure efficient operation
- Develop customer relations and facilitating usage of the MLife Card
- Responsible for attending to guests needs
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
- Responsible for tracking players by using computer tracking system
- Maintain set ups to return to poker tables
- Perform other job-related duties as requested
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- General knowledge of mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Ability to handle chips
- Some knowledge of Poker games and procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment
- Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
- Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
PREFERRED:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a similar resort setting
