PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The primary responsibility of the Gourmet Food Server II is to provide excellent service throughout serving the customer to include, delivering customer orders, maintain tables and exceed guest satisfaction. The server is also responsible for general cleaning and performing side duties.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Welcome guests with a warm and relevant greeting, utilize your knowledge of menu, guest preference, service and selling techniques to guide selections
- Knowledgeable of all menu items, prices, preparation method and time, major ingredients and quality standards of taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size, garnish and method of presentation
- Be familiar with all hotel services, features and local attractions and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
- Maintain table cleanliness and utilize a silent service approach
- Itemize bill correctly and efficiently secure payment
- Anticipate the guests’ needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency
- Work as a team, assist guest and employee needs and inquiries
- Successful completion of Restaurant Training Program and testing is required
- Perform other job-related duties as requested
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledgeable of selling techniques and delivery of both non and alcoholic beverages, and service delivery of menu items of every course
- Highly motivated and energetic personality
- Able to take initiative and exhibit flexibility
- Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
- Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
- Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
PREFERRED:
- Four (4) years of experience working in a similar gourmet restaurant
- Bilingual, English as the primary or secondary
