International Tax Manager
Summary:
The International Tax Manager is responsible for advising clients on the tax implications of their business objections with cross border matters, evaluating and selecting alternative actions to lessen worldwide tax burden and cost of compliance. The role will necessitate identifying different methods of complying with tax regulations while acting as the primary client contact for complex international tax issues. This Tax position is specifically looking for a candidate with heavy US international tax experience. In this role, the US International Tax Manager is charged with applying knowledge to understand potential tax issues and recognizing and communicating potential risks and potential changes in the tax policy.
Core Responsibilities:
- Leading Managing and Holding People Accountable (LMA)
- Understands and assist in execution of growth strategies (research calls, pipeline management, etc.)
- Manage engagements (jobs) project management, billing, ensures quality control (technical) standards
- Takes care of the client (meets deadlines, timely communicates)
- Develops engagement team (prepares seniors for the next level in their career)
Essential Functions:
- Oversee the efforts of multiple client services teams on client engagements; plan, execute, direct, and complete international tax projects in a wide variety of industries; provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients; market, sell, design, and implement tax-planning strategies for clients and manage to budget.
- Oversee the delivery of a full range of international tax services and advise U.S. and foreign multinational companies on the tax implications of their international operations as well as coordinating U.S. tax laws with foreign tax laws to develop an optimal worldwide tax strategy. A plus will be that one may assist with international tax planning for global family office and high wealth individuals.
- Consult with clients on tax-efficient structuring of international transactions, effective.
- Conduct primary and secondary review of complicated or complex international tax returns.
- Work closely with partners, managers, and staff to integrate practice development skills into a team approach to client service and new business development.
- Research various international tax issues.
- Develop and be part of a team that develops tax efficient supply chain management structures for client consideration and assist with implementation.
- Effective at supervising and training staff to prepare US international tax returns.
- Possesses a solid command of pertinent IRC sections and regulations.
- Consistently display excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- CPA or JD required
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a public accounting firm or related experience
- Previous experience supervising and training Staff and Seniors preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational techniques are required
- Must be highly motivated and experienced in managing multiple client engagements
- Must begin to attain visibility and recognition within their industry specialization
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
