MGT is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a dynamic corporate finance and accounting team at a growing consulting services firm. As a key member of the team, the Senior Accountant will perform various accounting and finance responsibilities. This person will play an important role with all accounting transactions and processes at MGT Consulting Group to ensure accurate reporting and adherence to all accounting policies and controls.MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITYKey player on corporate accounting team in the month-end close processPerform reconciliation of balance sheet accountsPrepare monthly journal entries, accruals and adjusting entriesAnalyze cost center trends to identify variances and determine estimates for accrualsIdentify and implement business process improvement opportunitiesAd hoc and special projects as neededMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts in Accounting or related fieldFive (5) or more years of progressive professional experience in accounting and financial servicesAbility to gather and organize data to drive important decision-making discussions, including reporting, and presenting findings after analyzing informationAbility to provide a proactive approach for solutions when next steps are ambiguousExperience drawing insights and trends from data and leveraging data to inform decision makingAbility to multi-task supporting concurrent projects, prioritize competing assignments, and work under pressure with tight deadlines and frequent interruptionsSelf-starter with the ability to work independentlyStrong desire to grow personally and professionallyPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster's degree in Accounting, Finance or related fieldProgressive experience in a public sector management consulting firm within accountingMGT of America Consulting, LLC will not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, marital status, genetic information, sexual orientation, pregnancy, gender identity, or any other characteristic or class protected by law.
