MHS Homehealth is seeking a skilled PTA to join our growing team. The PTA will work closely with our staff to provide compassionate and professional care to our clients as we strive to improve their quality of life and independence. As a member of our team, the PTA will participate in transitions from acute or rehab facilities to clients’ home or assisted living facilities in a smooth and efficient manner. With a focus on delivering high-quality patient care, the PTA will make a positive impact on the lives of our clients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in providing treatment programs to clients as prescribed by their physician.
- Collaborate with the physical therapy team on a regular basis to modify and update treatment programs.
- Help clients to manage their mobility, maximize their functional independence, and improve their quality of life.
- Instruct clients and their families on appropriate exercise programs and assist them in carrying them out.
- Accurately document the progress of patient treatment plans and communicate with the physical therapist on a regular basis.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure a client’s safe and effective transition to home or assisted living facility.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients, abiding by OSHA standards and company policies.
- Associate’s degree from an accredited PTA program.
- Valid and current PTA license in the state of employment.
- CPR certification required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and fellow staff members.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage time and tasks.
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to the changing needs of patients and the organization.
- Basic computer skills and experience using documentation software.
