Description
Mi Escuela Montessori seeks a school custodian to work the hours of 12pm to 6pm, Monday through Friday. (Hours may change during weeks when school is not in session.) This position offers health insurance.
School custodians have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:
- Ensuring that all school facilities are clean and safe, including cleaning and sanitizing classrooms, hallways, stairwells, locker rooms, cafeterias, playgrounds, and athletic fields
- Restocking bathrooms and putting away supplies. Will also include general cleaning, pulling trash, dusting, cleaning restrooms, vacuuming, and other cleaning duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Maintaining the school grounds and facilities in good condition by performing minor repairs, cleaning, and painting
- Performing other tasks such as replacing light bulbs, changing filters in HVAC systems, and replacing burned out light bulbs
- Ensuring that all school equipment is in good working order by conducting regular maintenance checks and making or requesting repairs.
Requirements
Requirements for our School Custodian Position:
- Ability to lift and move totes up to 49 pounds
- Walking in and around the facility with great frequency throughout the entire shift
- Must be able to stand and walk for up to 7-8 hours
- Must be a flexible team player
- Background Check and Drug Test Required
Training & Experience: NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED, but preferred for most positions!! School custodians typically receive on-the-job training from their supervisors or other school staff members. This training may include instruction on how to use cleaning equipment, how to handle hazardous materials, and how to perform basic maintenance tasks.
