Description:
General Purpose:
To provide effective execution of site purchasing/inventory management activities and proper maintenance of related operating system date.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interprets data relative to material usage to optimize investment material inventory while maximizing service to the customer.
- Communicates effectively with suppliers and internal customers to procure goods and services for the site.
- Reviews and implements all company inventory management strategies and policies to assure consistent application across the site.
- Monitors and/or plans for changing inventory requirements through participation in and development of effective sales & operations planning (S&OP) processes.
- Coordinates activities that will continuously improve the inventory levels throughout the site.
- Reviews and completes purchase orders and contacts suppliers to place orders.
- Expedites and defers the delivery of purchased items in order to meet delivery schedules.
- Reviews purchase requisitions for proper authorization levels and other required data.
- Obtains quotes from suppliers and assists in negotiating most cost-effective solutions for MIWD considering TAC (Total Acquisition Costs).
- Prepares spend activity reports as directed.
- Analyzes data related to raw materials, work-in-process and finished good inventory activity.
- Other duties as assigned
General Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
- BS in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field or equivalent combination of experience and education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
- Three to five years planning o r buying in a high-volume manufacturing facility.
- Knowledge and ability to deploy APICS, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, and Lean Manufacturing concepts.
- Ability to multi-task and effectively motivate team members and others with diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Software and DataWorks or other operating systems as required.
- Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills.
