What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at MI-T-M Corporation?
The successful applicant will assist the maintenance department to ensure all equipment is functioning safely and properly. Communicate and work directly with a number of different departments to install, maintain and repair equipment as needed. Follow all safety rules and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain and repair machinery and equipment as needed.
- Troubleshoot, install, and repair electrical, hydraulic and mechanical devices.
- Ability to work with 110 to 480 three phase electrical.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and buildings.
- Maintain an organized, clean and safe work area.
- Ensure repairs and maintenance to all equipment and facilities are performed in a neat workmanship-like manner.
- Maintain proper safety conditions of equipment and of Company assets.
- Comply with all standard safety practices, safety guidelines, and all Company guidelines and policies.
- Identify and communicate all issues and/or problems in a proactive manner to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Clean and assist with upkeep of the facilities.
- Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
- Perform snow removal related activities when necessary.
- Additional duties as assigned by manager.
Requirements
- Associates degree (AA) from two-year college or tech school; or at least 3 years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of general plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repair.
- Can operate scissor/boom lift at high heights.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Experience with mechanical systems (e.g., gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, bearings).
- Experience with basic electrical systems (e.g., starters, fuses, contacts, relays, installation, frequency drive, troubleshooting).
- Ability to utilize schematics (e.g., electrical blueprints with switched, starts, maps, relays).
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns.
- Must be able to understand and follow instructions from supervisor.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Candidate must be reliable. Regular attendance is required
- Excellent work ethic with the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
- Full time position
- 1st shift: Monday - Friday
- Must be willing to work overtime as required
- Prolonged periods standing and walking. Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend or crawl into awkward spaces. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.

Salary : $48,700 - $61,600
