Position Description: MI Technical Solutions is seeking a Data Science Developer to join its team. In this role, the Data Science Developer is responsible for gathering and analyzing data, organizing, and documenting findings of studies, and preparing recommendations for implementing new systems, procedures, or organizational changes.
**This is an in-person only position in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia**
Responsibilities:
• Provide senior level oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with higher command levels (GS-15, O-6 level) orally and in writing.
• Provide support using Naval Aviation databases, Naval Surface databases, Ship Maintenance databases, Shipyard databases, and Ship Supply databases.
• Provide advanced experience working in MS Excel related to importing daily/weekly/monthly data sources, running pre-programmed macros, and relaying issues experienced to the development team.
• Provide advanced experience working with Microsoft Access and Tableau.
• Validate outputs from Data Visualization tools (such as Tableau) with the raw data source.
• Maintain a working understanding of Jupiter/Advana and be able to operate in this construct.
• Gather and analyze data, organize, and document findings of studies, and prepare recommendations for implementing new systems, procedures, or organizational changes.
• Collate information into meaningful reports and presentation material.
• Provide metamorphose CVN raw data into viable and readable formats for display in Tableau, and decision utilization by leadership.
• Design, build, test, blend, manage, and optimize all types of relevant data utilizing numerous sources, some described above.
• Proficiency in coding languages is essential to this role. The contractor shall provide advanced ability in utilizing common programming languages to include SQL, NoSQL, Python, Java, R, and Scala.
Requirements:
• DoD Secret Clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer or Data Science
• Minimum of 3 or more years’ experience in the use of Tableau, Jupiter/Advana, and advanced ability in utilizing common programming languages to include SQL, NoSQL, Python, Java, R, and Scala
• Minimum of 5 or more years’ experience with Microsoft Products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in developing, modifying, and maintaining assigned programs, and designing and implementing modifications to the interrelation of data within programs
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience monitoring the operation of assigned programs, collected data, and responds to problems by diagnosing and correcting errors in logic and coding
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working on complex programs under close direction of higher-level staff or supervisor
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in providing a full range of programming actions to produce several interrelated but different products from numerous and diverse data elements which are usually from different sources
• Effective writing, speaking, and analytical skills
