Fire Plans Processor (Fire Rescue)

Minimum Qualifications

A State of Florida Professional Engineer license, and be certified as a State of Florida Firesafety Inspector I as specified in Chapter 633, Florida Statues; OR A State of Florida Registered Architect license, and be certified as a State of Florida Firesafety Inspector I as specified in Chapter 633, Florida Statues; OR A State certified General Contractor license with five years of experience under the jurisdiction of the Florida Building Code and be certified as a State of Florida Firesafety Inspector I as specified in Chapter 633, Florida Statutes and must possess a National Fire Protection Agency Certified Fire Plans Examiner Certification within two years of employment; OR

Be certified as a State of Florida Firesafety Inspector I as specified in Chapter 633, Florida Statues and possess a National Fire Protection Agency Certified Fire Plans Examiner certification; OR

Be certified as a State of Florida Firesafety Inspector I as specified in Chapter 633, Florida Statues and must have a minimum three years of experience in performing the role of a Plans Examiner for life safety, and/or fire protection systems, and/or fire alarm systems, under the jurisdiction of the Florida Fire Prevention Code.

Licenses and certifications must be in good standing with their perspective issuing agency, and if appropriate, Miami-Dade County's Contractors License Enforcement Section, and/or the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulations: and with no pending complaints: except with the State of Florida Professional Engineer and State of Florida Registered Architect.

Recruitment Notes

This position will reside in the Fire Engineering Bureau of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue's Fire Prevention Division and will be located at the Permit and Inspection Center. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for reviewing Life Safety Plans and Hydraulic Plans.
