Wx Maintenance/Custodian

Position Summary:

To keep building clean and perform minor building maintenance and repairs.

Essential Duties:
• Clean, sweep, mop, scrub, wax, and polish floors by hand or machine, clean carpet, upholstery and furniture. Gather and empty trash and dispose of.
• Clean windows, mirrors, screens, sills, woodwork, doors, desks, walls and ceilings using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges and squeegees.
• Order supplies and equipment as needed for cleaning, stock and maintenance duties.
• Clean, sanitize, and stock supplies in rest rooms, dust and vacuum rooms, lock and unlock doors. Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
• Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways and parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers and snow shovels, and spreads snow melting chemicals. Mow and trim lawns and shrubbery using mowers, hand and power trimmers and clean debris from grounds.
• Provide maintenance and minor repairs to plumbing, and may perform routine carpentry work.
• Perform some repairs and maintenance of buildings by patching walls and doors, painting walls and trims and respacing fixtures and partitions; replace damaged ceiling and floor tiles, and repair carpet. Steam clean or shampoo carpets.
• Notify supervisor concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Set up and take down tables and chairs for classes, meetings and trainings.

• Maintain and promotes an atmosphere of dignity and respect in line with the philosophy and policies of Miami Valley Community Action Partnership.
• Represent Miami Valley Community Action Partnership in community and collaborative meetings as needed.
• Set and observe appropriate boundaries with clients; observe client confidentiality and HIPPA protocols.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education and Certifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

Required to have a valid Ohio driver's license, access to dependable transportation during working hours, and be insurable on Agency policy.
• Ability to be dependable throughout all seasons of the year.
• The job's functions require the following physical demands:
o occasional lifting (maximum 50 pounds), carrying pushing and/or pulling.
o some climbing, use of ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling significant reaching, handling, speaking, writing hearing, frequent standing for long periods of time on concrete surfaces, walking and lifting.
• Ability to adhere to sanitation requirements. Must be neat and clean in appearance. A general ability to understand and operate grounds and office maintenance equipment as needed.
• Subject to criminal background check, pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing and MVR.
