Qualifications:
- Must be able to communicate and write in English, Bilingual is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of Security experience.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Working knowledge PC skills, including MS Word and Excel.
- Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Must be able to frequently move freely about the property, maintain manual dexterity to operate job related equipment, such as telephones, copiers, etc., withstand various activities such as frequent walking, sitting for long periods and withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction.
- Be able to work indoors and be exposed to various environmental contaminants including smoke.
- Ability to lift or carry a minimum of 20 pounds unassisted in the performance of specific tasks assigned.
- Must be able to work with others, communicate well, receive direction, and provide feedback when needed to achieve department goals and objectives.
- Must maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with guests in a congenial and polite manner.
- Must be able to address stressful situations with clients with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness.
- Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods.
- Ability to lift/move 25 lbs.
- Active Florida State “D” Unarmed Security Officer License required
Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the Unarmed Security Officer II is to maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel. The Security Officer prevents losses and damages by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures, and restraining trespassers. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Tribal Gaming Agency policies, practices, and procedures.- Adhere to the Miccosukee Service Expectations and ensure team compliance.
- Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times and to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.
- Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Works in an unarmed capacity inside or outside the Enterprise as required.
- Completes monetary escorts between departments and as needed or requested.
- Warns Violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and apprehends or expels persons engaging in suspicious acts.
- Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.
- Notifies on-duty Miccosukee Police Officer of any criminal activity by guest or employee, assists MPD if requested.
- Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.
- Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company property.
- Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons. Permits authorized persons to enter property.
- Records data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment, for use of supervisory staff.
- Regulates vehicle and pedestrian traffic at entrance to maintain orderly flow.
- Maintain security logs.
- Works at both stationary and patrol posts.
- Every staff member is expected to adhere to the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida Merit System Policies; they are also expected to work collegially and to support all the teams with which they have contact in achieving the Enterprise’s objectives.
- Any other duty as required commensurate with the position, department, and organization.
