Client Details
Our Client is a leading general contractor specializing in commercial construction projects. Projects range up to $20 million and encompass a variety of sectors including retail, healthcare, education, and office spaces.
Description
Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects ranging up to $20 million.
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and required contents of estimates.
- Perform quantity take-offs, develop unit costs, and prepare comprehensive bid proposals.
- Analyze and interpret historical data, unit costs, and productivity to develop accurate estimates.
- Manage the bid process including solicitation of subcontractor bids, bid comparisons, and final bid submission.
- Identify and evaluate potential project risks and opportunities during the bid phase.
- Coordinate and lead pre-bid meetings and bid reviews with project teams and clients.
- Maintain detailed records of all estimating activities, including bid documents, take-off data, and cost breakdowns.
- Prepare and present estimate summaries, bid reviews, and post-bid analyses to senior management.
- Update and manage estimating software and databases to ensure accurate and current cost information.
Profile
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating with a general contractor.
- Proven track record of successfully estimating and bidding projects up to $20 million.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contracts.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimating.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) are a plus.
