Our Client serves as the world's largest producer of meat and poultry processing equipment and is seeking a Commodities Leader to serve in its growing business. The person chosen for this position will work directly with the Chief Procurement Officer, and will be responsible for managing daily procurement operations as well as provide strategic insight to be applied to the supplier base.

Description
- The Commodity Leader will manage all aspects of the supply chain and deliver the best level of TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) in Raw Material and other spend categories.
- Understand global market dynamics of assigned commodities and services, and effectively manage suppliers, mitigate risk, and control cost.
- Expected to be a critical thinker to drive process improvements by developing and integrating best practices across multiple functions and strategic sourcing teams.
- Pursue systematic TCO reductions and value enhancements for the assigned commodities. Track KPI's and deliver reports as assigned.
- Execute comprehensive RFQ process and support functional users in a timely manner while minimizing the risk and maximizing the value.
- Identify and develop strategic supply sources for the assigned commodities. Manage relationships with suppliers, resolve issues, and optimize performance.
- Support general business activities and requirements of the specific functional groups.
- Command proficiency in commodities and buying processes and update as required.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or engineering required
- At least 5 years of Procurement experience in Strategic Sourcing Management; prefer at least 3 years procuring raw materials (Steel, Iron, Al, Cu, Brass, Plastics etc.).
- Comprehensive understanding of procurement and commodity management methodologies. Solid knowledge of cost drivers and supply base for assigned commodities.
- Ability to champion new change efforts and processes to drive continuous improvements
- Significant expertise in legal contract negotiations and risk management
- Work independently and manage time and projects effectively and efficiently.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with an attention to detail. A self-starter with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Proficient with computers. Advanced command of Microsoft Office 365 suite. Experience working with Infor (SyteLine) a plus.
