My client is a $9B, global leader in the manufacturing industry. They are looking for a Cost Analyst to join their $350M North American chemical manufacturing division. This division has 4 manufacturing facilities in North America, including one right here in the South Suburbs of Chicago where the Cost Analyst will be based.
The Cost Analyst position is open due to an internal promotion! With that promotion, I am partnering directly with the CFO to identify the next Cost Analyst to join the team. My client has a highly collaborative environment and is looking for a Cost Analyst to join the team that is excited to work cross functionally with the team to collect and analyze financial information related to materials input costs and seek ways to improve the accuracy of direct and indirect cost factors effecting inventory carrying values.
The Cost Analyst will have an opportunity to make an impact on the organization having the support of the CFO to regularly pursue process and cost improvement initiatives. You will have an opportunity to partner with Operations, IT, FP&A, Procurement and Supply Chain, etc. to be able to make a meaningful impact on the profitability of the organization through cost analytics.
Job Description
- Evaluate the costs associated with different aspects of the business, including production, procurement, inventory management, and overhead expenses.
- Utilize financial modeling techniques to forecast future costs and assess the financial impact of potential decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant cost inputs and ensure accuracy in cost projections.
- Conduct sensitivity analyses to assess the potential impact of changes in key cost drivers.
- Monitor actual costs against budgeted or estimated costs to identify deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely with operational teams to develop and implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
- Review and analyze cost reports to identify areas of inefficiency and opportunities for optimization.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance productivity, and reduce costs through automation and technology solutions.
- Proactively identify and address potential risks and opportunities for cost optimization.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2 years of Cost Accounting experience
- Proficient in speaking Spanish is a plus!
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, etc.)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
- Target compensation for the Cost Analyst is $85,000 - $95,000 base salary annual bonus potential!
