Description
- Work in collaboration with the Estimating team to provide competitive project estimates and win proposals, while partnering with the operations team to complete an effective internal hand off
- Handle multiple projects from time of RFP to bid submission
- Perform thorough and accurate take-offs
- Create scopes of work to distribute to subcontractors
- Qualify sub bids with care to ensure scope of work required is covered within bid
- Input data into bid forms, create detailed qualifications, and assemble bid packages
- Manage the RFP process, ensuring maximum coverage in all trades
- Responsible for tracking of RFPs and bids
- Ensure detailed & efficient Hand-off of awarded projects to operations
- Prepare for and attend bid review meeting
- Coordinate with accounting and project management to estimate fees, overhead, and profit
- Build strong relationships with potential clients, subcontractors, and vendors
Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 5-10 years of estimating experience with a general contractor(s)
- Ability to perform conceptual, schematic, and design development budgets, detailed cost estimates, and deliver quantity take-offs in partnership with the project management and field operations team
- Experience with commercial new construction, renovations, and tenant fit-out projects. Project values can range from $1M - $150M or higher
- Proven track record of successfully negotiating with subcontractors to ascertain best pricing
- Excellent understanding of reading blueprints and specifications
- Well versed in excel and MS Office programs
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to cultivate strong relationships with owners, vendors, architects, subcontractors, and internal staff
