- Creating and supporting designs of automated machine accessories, overseeing all mechanical aspects from conceptualization to implementation.
- Generating conceptual designs to meet customer requests, ensuring appropriateness and functionality.
- Designing mechanical components and mechanisms, and producing construction documents for designed components.
- Specifying off-the-shelf items like pneumatic actuators, valves, sensors, electric actuators, motors, and reducers, and inputting component and Bill of Materials data into our ERP system.
- Developing Sequence of Operations outlines for control program creation and liaising with vendors and fabricators for parts sourcing.
- Assisting in the assembly of first article mechanical portions and collaborating with controls personnel to refine machine operations.
- Directing project documentation, including manuals, and providing on-site and remote support for machine installation at customer facilities.
- Reviewing designs and drawings from team members and offering technical support to end users post-implementation, with occasional travel to customer sites (~5%).
The Successful Applicant

- 2 years of mechanical design experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Machine tool accessories/ equipment experience preferred
- Experience with Swiss lathes a plus
