What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host position at Michael Symon Restaurants?
Mabel's BBQ Front Door Personnel must be friendly and outgoing with a focus on genuine hospitality. This position represents the face of our restaurants and is the first point of contact for our guests.
Responsibilities
· Daily cleaning duties as required by management
· Completion of all side work, before, during, and after the shift as required by management
· Welcoming all guests with a smile and a warm greeting
· Operation of a multi-line phone system
· Navigation of the Opentable system in order to manage walk-ins, and waitlist business
· Efficiently managing the seating and preferences of guests
· Handling all gift cards transactions
· Selling retail items
· Processing carryout orders
· Assisting in maintaining dining areas and clearing tables, sweeping and cleaning floors, checking bathrooms for cleanliness and straightening up as needed
Requirements
· The ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment while maintaining a calm composure and a friendly demeanor
· Use of good communication skills with and showing respect to all guests, fellow employees, and management
· Demonstrate a base knowledge of all menu items offered in the restaurant
· Fluently and efficiently navigating the restaurant’s point of sale system & Opentable system
· Coming to work on time, and with a positive attitude every shift
· Demonstrating correct financial reporting and cash handling
· Following all policies and procedures as listed in the Employee Manual.
All front door personnel will undergo a 5 day training period after which they will function under a 60 day probationary work period. During training, and before being allowed to work any post training shifts, all front door personnel must complete and pass a Food/Menu Test, a Point of Sale test and a General Restaurant Knowledge Test. Additionally successful completion of training is dependent on performance approval of the restaurant’s Designated Trainers and Managers.
