K-12 Health and Physical Education Teacher

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with K-12 Physical/Health certification and at least one other core subject.
• Meet requirements for a background check and fingerprinting.
• Alternative applicable qualifications may be considered.

Job Requirements, Knowledge, and Skills:

A successful candidate will possess:

• Successful experience working with students of all ages.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Provide instruction consistent with District and school expectations which meets the needs of all students assigned to the teacher.
• Knowledge of best practices in classroom instruction and technology integration.
• Experience working as part of a collaborative team.

A successful candidate will be able to:

• Relate to and instruct children in large groups, small groups, and individualized settings.
• Develop and use strategies to improve student achievement in all core content areas.
• Use formative and summative assessments to guide instruction.
• Effectively utilize classroom discipline strategies while providing positive reinforcement.
• Contribute to a professional learning team.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure student success and a positive school climate.
