POSITION: Math Teacher – Grades 6-12
BUILDING: Virtual Learning Center (VLC) – In Person
REPORTS TO: Director of VLC
SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week – Monday through Friday (7-8 hours daily) & Wednesday evenings from 5-8 pm working with Adult Education. 205 work days.
SALARY: $45,000

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institute of higher education.
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (secondary). Certification must be in 6-12 Math
- Must possess the ability to deliver effective classroom instruction and management
- Must possess a strong desire to work with students and their parents
- Must possess a willingness to participate in a variety of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities including staff and curriculum development
- Must possess a willingness to work as part of a building team for the improvement of instruction
- Must possess a willingness to adapt to continuous change
- Must possess excellent communication skills when engaging with students, parents, and colleagues
- Must possess a demonstrated mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the requirements of the position
- Knowledge of or previous work with online curriculum is preferred
Punctual, regular, & consistent attendance is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide high quality instruction to 6 th – 8 th and 9 th – 12 th grade students in Math courses, both in person and online
- Manage and adjust the online course content for multiple course and multiple grade levels
- Collaborate with life coaches and interventionists working with students
- Maintain required records
- Participate in building achievement team meetings
