Junior DevOps Engineer (ON-SITE POSITION)

Superior Dairy is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic IT department as a JR DevOps Engineer in our Canton, OH. facility. As a JR DevOps Engineer, you will investigate and resolve technical issues related to plant operations, study existing processes, and implement efficient data collection and flow systems. The candidate will focus on studying the overall product flow to devise methods for capturing and reporting production metrics, collaborating with plant engineers and supervisors to build notifications and alarms for anomalous conditions.

The ideal candidate should have a programming mindset, ideally with a strong proficiency in Python and/or C#.

The Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA) – established in 1916 – is a dairy farmer-owned and operated milk marketing cooperative and dairy processor. As the 10th largest dairy cooperative in the U.S., MMPA serves dairy farmers throughout Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Indiana.

Primary Job Functions

• The position will work with plant engineers, supervisors, developers, and system admins.
• Investigate and resolve server (With vender and support from the rest of the team), data collection, and HMI technical issues related to plant operations.
• Assist with troubleshooting any plant specific server-based systems errors and malfunctions (With vendor support in most cases).
• Study, make suggestions, and build systems to improve data visualization and data flow.
• Study the process and flow of product from a high-level standpoint to devise methods to capture and report production metrics.
• Will occasionally build notifications & alarms for any number of anomalous conditions.

Education Requirements:

•  Associate degree or higher in a computer science or computer engineering field is desired.

 Proficiency in at least two of the following areas:

• Software Development: Python, C#, Git and C

• Database Experience: SQL Query building, MS SQL, SQL Mail, Any version of Oracle database, MySQL

• Sysadmin: Basic Windows 10/11 troubleshooting, RDP server implementation/maintenance (preferably with ThinManager), VMWare and/or HyperV, Veeam, Some Unix/Linux experience

• SCADA/HMI Design: FactoryTalk View Studio (Rockwell), Ignition (Inductive Automation) using Perspective, AVEVA System Platform/Wonderware (Archestra), FactoryTalk AssetCentre, Ability to read ladder logic (PLC programming)

• Networking Skills: Basic IP Addressing and Subnetting, Understanding of IPv4 Routing, Understanding VLANs, some experience supporting DNS/DHCP
