Position Details
- Valid State of Michigan Teaching Certificate (BA or BS certification)
- Successful teaching experience, student teaching, or professional classroom experience
- Knowledge and understanding of curriculum design and instructional strategies
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of assessment procedures and learning and motivation theory
- Hold high expectations for student achievement
- Understanding of implementing a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS)
- Demonstrates the ability to collaborate with teaching staff and with other stakeholders by communicating both verbally and written
- Willingness to participate in professional development
- Ability to work with at-risk and special education students
- Demonstrates effective classroom management skills
- Plan, organize, and provide instruction to students individually, in small groups, and in whole group settings
- Maintain appropriate records and lesson plans
- Willingness to serve as a coach / advisor or work with the school improvement team
- Possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, self-motivated, team-oriented and willing to work with students, parents, staff and community members
- Other duties as assigned by the building principal or Superintendent of schools.
