Job Description:

The USB & Networking team is looking for a highly skilled Intern for a period of 3 months through the summer that can contribute to the design and validation of USB and Ethernet based products and standards. The candidate should be a self-driven individual who is capable and excited about learning. This position is at Microchip Technology Inc. located in Chandler, Arizona.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform transistor level analog design/verification on a CMOS based transceiver circuit
• Perform testing in a lab environment, including setup / tear down of equipment, test execution, and result reviewing/reporting
• Author and review technical documents for existing Microchip products
• Prepare and present a comprehensive review of the design/verification work at the conclusion of the internship
• Interface directly with Design, Validation, and Application Engineers where necessary
• Operate effectively in a team environment while contributing to the team's success

Requirements/Qualifications:

Job requirements are as follows:

• Currently enrolled in a BSEE or MSEE program at an accredited university with at least 2 years of standard EE course work
• Basic knowledge and familiarity of the following:
  • CMOS device operation and physical design
  • Analog building blocks (ie, current mirrors, differential pairs, op amps, etc...)
  • Analog circuit simulation tools (Cadence Virtuoso)
  • Basic lab equipment (Multimeters, Oscilloscope, Network Analyzers, etc...)
• Excellent technical, verbal, and interpersonal skills
