Job Description: Microchip is currently looking for a skilled and driven Product Engineer to join their 8-bit Microprocessors (MCU8) Business Unit (BU) and contribute to all stages of New Product Development, with a particular emphasis on post-silicon validation. The team is made up of a diverse group of experts from around the world, all of whom are highly motivated and results-driven, and who work together in a collaborative and supportive environment. The role will involve a significant amount of time spent developing and running tests, creating code, producing validation reports, conducting lab bench experiments, and providing assistance to other team members in the validation of 8-bit microprocessors at both the peripheral and system-level. Actively participate in our New Product Development teams. Develop and execute test plans for 8-bit microcontroller products. Analyze test results and provide feedback to design and development teams. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues. Develop and maintain test automation scripts. Participate in design reviews and provide input on testability and quality. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in microcontroller validation. Validate and characterize the performance of new microcontroller designs. Work with Manufacturing, Marketing and Applications to support and enhance Microchip's continuing growth. Requirements/Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Engineering Technology (BSET), Software Engineering (BSSE), or related a field. Strong understanding of 8-bit microcontroller architecture and programming. Familiarity with programming languages such as C, Python, LabView and assembly Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of analog circuits and non-volatile memory. Proficient working in a lab environment and familiar with lab equipment, oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, function generators. Overseas travel is a possibility.
