What are the responsibilities and job description for the Specimen Collector position at Microgen?
Paris Care Clinic is looking for a collector who is well experienced, professional, and caring towards patients. We offer competitive pay, determined by experience. While working as a collector, mostly you will be swabbing patients for Covid-19 as well as collecting other samples for testing. You will also be working within the clinic for scheduling and making some calls to patients.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Administering nasopharyngeal swabs or oropharyngeal swabs for Respiratory Pathogen Panel testing (including testing for Covid-19).
- Appropriately discarding used needles, syringes, and other items used during venipuncture procedures.
- Appropriately storing blood samples in accordance with established guidelines and accurately labeling specimens.
- Maintaining accurate patient records, which includes detailing any medical issues experienced by patients during venipuncture procedures that may affect the accuracy of test results.
- Transporting collected samples to the laboratory for testing.
Experience Required:
- Completion of a postsecondary education phlebotomy program.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Proven experience drawing blood samples.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Sound organizational skills.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Effective communication skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Medical Science or related field is preferred.
Pay: $13.00 - $18.00 per hour
