Lead Mechanical Inspector/ CMM Programmer
Micron Solutions is a multifaceted contract manufacturing organization specializing in thermoplastic injection molding, precision machining and finishing, and silver-plated medical sensors for disposable electrodes. We work with clients of all sizes to provide manufacturing solutions and assembly services to help our customers meet their goals. Our 140,000 square foot manufacturing facility is capable of serving customers’ projects from start to finish.
I. JOB PURPOSE
Working with limited supervision/direction, verifies and approves products and processes in manufacturing and receiving areas using established procedures, forms and equipment.
Trains Quality Inspectors to perform these functions.
II. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Lead Mechanical Inspector/CMM Programmer will:
- Use and program, with PC-DMIS software, a Brown & Sharpe Global Performance 05-05-05 (or similar) Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM).
- Use Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GDT) drawing requirements.
- Import Solid Models to feed CMM program coordinates.
- Perform inspection of in-coming, in-process, and finished product for conformance to quality standards.
- Train others (e.g., Quality Technicians, Inspectors, and Machinists/Operators) in the basic use of the Brown & Sharpe Global Performance 05-05-05 (or similar) Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM).
- Accurately document inspections.
- Provide quality leadership, inspections, problem identification and resolution, training, consultation, and technical expertise to manufacturing groups and others within the Quality organization.
- Lead and act collaboratively in gathering data, resolving issues, and improving processes.
- Read and work from written instructions; read and interpret blueprints.
- Use both basic and advanced mechanical inspection tools.
- Use technical math to interpret and to analyze complicated drawings, specifications, charts, and tables.
Requirements
High school or equivalent (Required)
- GD&T: 1 year (Required)
- Night Shift (Required) - Hours are Monday through Friday - 3:00pm - 11:00pm
- Coordinate Measuring Machine: 1 year (Preferred)
- Competent with Microsoft Office Program
- Familiar with ISO 13485
- General understanding of Statistical Process Control
- Ability to read and interpret prints and customer requirements
- Proficient with standard dimensional gages-caliper, micrometer, drop indicator, comparator
- Proficient with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Vision Systems, Digital Optical
- Comparator, and other advanced measurement/test equipment
