Intern - HVAC Mechanic

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.Operates, maintains and adjusts controls for heating, ventilation and air conditioning components, including ultrapure water and waste water treatment equipment for the numerous semiconductor facility systems to mitigate deviations from required operating parameters. Performs initial repairs of support infrastructure to include electrical, plumbing, pneumatic controls and mechanical HVAC components supporting facilities systems. Monitors, manipulates, analyzes and communicates to system owners and responds to deviations in system performance alarmed through the site HMI application in the Central Facilities Control Room for corrective response to deviation occurrences. Reads and understands OEM manuals, blueprints, drawings, schematics and general instructions to perform task assignments. Performs preventive maintenance inspections and diagnostic testing to ensure proper system operation. Repairs in-place HVAC related systems utilizing appropriate tools and equipment to achieve optimal design and functional specifications. Researches replacement parts, equipment, specifications and methods required to maintain and repair industrial equipment and systems. Responds to life safety and security alarms conditions. Looking for a 3 month internship in the spring-summer or summer semester.Technical/Data Analysis:Independently performs technical tasksFollows general instructions on new assignmentsWorks on assignments that are semi-routine in natureApplies judgement in quickly resolving routine problemsTroubleshoots problems where reference materials are availableApplies limited judgment in resolving non-routine problemsMonitors, analyzes and addresses issues for area processes each shiftSupports and monitors area processes and addresses/escalates issuesMonitors equipment to resolve equipment issues and maximize system stabilitySupports area cost reduction activitiesProvides effective and timely support to resolve equipment issuesIdentifies and resolves chronic equipment alarm issuesIdentifies and reduces equipment defects to improve qualityDrives a culture of TPM including TPM metrics, CIP items, MTAGs, and proceduresAssists with installation, modification and removal of facilities equipmentMaintains tools and equipment in working orderIdentifies and responds according to alarm conditionsCompletes all assigned PMs and work orders in a timely and thorough mannerQualifications:Intermediate PC skills including a familiarity with MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPointProven ability to follow procedures and work with minimal supervisionProven time management, organization, and prioritization skillsProven ability to multi-task in a high-paced environmentProven ability to communicate effectivelyStrong partnering and teamwork skillsDemonstrated strong written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated critical thinking skillsDemonstrated ability to continuously learn and self-improveDemonstrated ability to handle basic arithmetic calculations Education and Experience:Required: Be enrolled in a technical education program and have completed at least 50% of the programAs a world leader in the semiconductor industry, Micron is dedicated to your personal wellbeing and professional growth.
