Packer / Washer
POSITION PURPOSE:
Under the direction of the Shipping Manager and Technical Lead, the Packer/Washer manually cleans and prepares machined parts for shipments using tumblers, wash tanks and degreasers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manually wash manufactured parts by lifting parts placed in a basket, dipping in solvent and rinsing, blowing off excess with the use of an air hose and by using degreaser and spinner.
- Pack parts, as assigned by Team Leader, for shipment.
- Work with Quality Assurance and Technical Lead on what parts are more important for daily inspection.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Watch routing sheets to see if parts gets outside operation such as plating, grinding or heat treating
- Package small products or parts in standard containers in shipping area
- Form, staple or tape seal boxes
- May be required to select, assemble and check orders
- Stencil or attach shipping and handling instructions
- Verifies all work procedures are checked
- Will tumble parts, per routing, by selecting the correct tumbling materials and placing the correct amount in a machine
- Work with Quality Assurance department to match parts, verify part numbers and distribute parts to next process such as an outside process or finished good
- Will individually inspect Humphrey parts for metal chips and debris and clear using air hose
- Must be quality conscious and continuously look for quality improvements
