Hours worked Per Week: Course time plus 1.5 office hours
POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a continuous vacancy announcement that is filled on a “need only” basis. All
applications are kept on file, and when courses become available, applicants will be
notified. Mid-America University seeks a part-time faculty member with in-person and online
teaching experience for undergraduate courses in the areas of data analytics. The applicant
must possess a strong Christian background and be willing to participate in Chapel
services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach courses within the Data Analytics Program as assigned by the Program
Director
- Provide quality instruction by following the department’s course syllabus,
grading assignments, tracking attendance, and maintaining lab materials as
assigned
- Respond and effectively communicate with the Program Director on a regular
basis
- Available to teach courses in the timeslots needed to support the goals of the
University
- Assess student performances of the outcomes of the program and provide data
to appropriate stakeholders
- Respond to students, faculty, and staff in a timely manner
- Utilize current technologies and incorporate current topics as they relate to
course materials
- Support the mission and goals of the University
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess excellent communication, both oral and written, and
organizational skills necessary for the position
- Must possess excellent communication skills to work effectively with individuals
and groups
- Must be flexible in scheduling
- Prefer experience in various teaching delivery formats
- Prefer teaching experience in data analytics
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
M.S. or Ph.D. in the area of data analytics, computer science, mathematics, or data science
(minimum of 18 hours of upper-division coursework in the area being taught)
