This position is eligible for Mid Atlantic Retina's $1,000 Hiring Incentive! The hired candidate will receive $500 after successful completion of 90 days of employment and $500 after successful completion of 6 months of employment! Available to new hires only- not available to agency hires, internal transfers, or re-hires.
Job Description
The Facilities Technician reports to the Facilities Manager and is responsible for assisting in all Facilities Management projects for existing and new Mid Atlantic Retina office locations throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.
Essential Functions
- Participate in the daily operations of the properties.
- Respond to work orders per company policy.
- Perform work related to light carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC maintenance, painting, sheetrock repair, exterior maintenance, fixture installation, and other construction service trades .
- Respond to, and assist as needed, in building emergency matters such as plumbing leaks, power failure, fire, etc.
- Utilize a work order system to log activities as required.
- Assists the Facilities Manager in projects as needed.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
- Travel to needed.

This would require the ability to lift and / or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds, bending and reaching, climbing and standing on a ladder as necessary.
- Listening to verbal communication using a telephone and processing the information while entering the data into a computer system, processing auditory information and responding verbally back in an appropriate manner while maintaining a 1 : 1 or group conversation is also expected.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

- Using hands to operate equipment such as a computer mouse, show manual or finger dexterity, handle things with precision or speed, use muscular coordination and physical stamina.
- Following through on plans or instructions.
- Ability to use words to communicate ideas, reading with comprehension and explain abstract or complex ideas in more basic terms.
Position Type / Expec ted Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Required Education and Experience
- A minimum of 1 year maintenance experience required, or equivalent
- Experience with plumbing, electrical and HVAC / mechanical background preferred
- Must be able to lift and work with heavy equipment.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
