Inventory & Order Control Specialist
The Inventory & Order Control Specialist is responsible for the management and control of all inventory products and open order review to ensure that all processes and procedures surrounding inventory are properly executed. This position works with location management and/or the purchasing team to achieve optimal inventory levels and to ensure our computer counts are accurate.
Job Duties:
· To successfully be trained in BisTrack Point of Sale and Inventory Management software utilization and understanding
· Understand the receiving process and how cost is assigned for all products we purchase
· Assist with fiscal inventory for our locations and complete cycle counts as required by management
· Communicate with management on all cycle count variances to find root causes of problems and prevent them from reoccurring
· Notify management of any inventory adjustments made and discuss the need for average cost adjustments when identified
· Create new product codes as needed to follow our current department, class, and sequence designation process
· Work with management and purchasing department to minimize or eliminate excess, obsolete, and non-stock inventory
· Work with supplier reps and/or the purchasing department to manage damaged and defective products; initiate return of the product to obtain a credit for the division
· Manage excessive product allocations and negative inventory that occur from the order entry process
· Assist in managing our open orders by working with members of the sales team
Job Requirements:
· Experience using Microsoft Office products
· Strong interpersonal communication, computer and writing skills; highly organized and willing to work as a team member and help motivate others
· Must have excellent attendance history and strong work ethic
· Must be a customer-centric, results-oriented self-starter able to work independently
· The physical requirements for this job include (working inside): sitting at a desk and walking/ standing on a tiled or carpeted surface in a climate-controlled area for much of the work shift. Stair climbing is required. All motor skills normally used in grasping, lifting, bending, turning, and carrying (minimum of 20 lbs.) are necessary. Correctable vision and hearing are needed.
