LOCATION: Serving portions Davidson or Williamson County Full Time with full benefits, including retirement. Serves as an advocate helping residents and their families resolve questions or concerns about resident’s quality of care and life in long-term care and Assisted Living facilities. The Associate Ombudsman also provides information and referral services to residents and community members, and coordinates volunteer recruitment/credentialing while working under the direction of the LTC Ombudsman Program Director. Extensive Ombudsman training is provided.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have: an undergraduate degree from a four-year college or university with an interest in social services, advocacy, or related fields; have reliable transportation; and pass a criminal background check. The equivalent of three years of full-time work experience with at least two years in aging or long-term care with investigative experience is preferred as are the following: • Ability to engage effectively in problem solving and empower others to do so • Skills in advocacy and mediation • Experience and/or education in gerontology or aging programs • Goal oriented, self-starter, and able to multi-task • Written and verbal communication skills • Ability to establish working relationships with long-term care residents and their families
