Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Mid Michigan Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Triage patient calls and schedule urgent/emergent add-ons, ensuring timely and effective care.
- Perform routine pre-examination procedures, including vital signs and patient assessments, to ensure accurate and comprehensive patient records.
- Assist providers with examinations and procedures, maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Prepare and clean patient areas, set up equipment, and dispose of contaminated supplies, adhering to infection control protocols.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months of hire or transfer.
- Medical Assistant certification (RMA, CMA, or equivalent) and completion of a Medical Assistant program through an accredited organization.
- High school diploma or GED required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Knowledge of medical office policies, practices, and procedures, typically acquired through 3-5 years of experience in the healthcare system.
Working Conditions
This role requires frequent standing, walking, and postural changes, as well as occasional lifting of 11-20 pounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and priorities.
