Company Description: We are an apartment complex with over 900 units spread across 81 buildings. We have a full staff of approximately 45 team members and perform most maintenance, repairs, renovations, and landscaping in house. This position is responsible for ordering, tracking, and organizing most of the materials required to perform that work.
Job Description: Responsible for maintaining inventory and organization in the stock room as well as assisting in answering phone calls related to maintenance and preparing work orders. Maintaining stock is essential to the proper operation of our maintenance department. This is not a retail position, the person in this position will primarily be dealing with coworkers but will be required to interact with tenants and vendors occasionally.
Common tasks or duties include but are not limited to:
· Track inventory
· Receive goods from suppliers and check the contents for correctness
· Prepare lists / orders of items needed
· Submit orders to suppliers for approval
· Organization of paperwork and records
· Organization of stock room
· Maintain minimum levels of stock for essential items
· Prevent unwanted or unnecessary loss of stock
· Answer phone calls
· Create service requests in Yardi
Requirements:
· MUST be able to establish and maintain a clear organizational structure for inventory in the stock room.
· Ability to maintain and organize paperwork related to orders and deliveries.
· Ability to provide excellent customer service.
· A basic understanding of common maintenance problems found in apartment and building components.
· Ability to operate effectively as part of a team as well as an individual.
· Physical requirements include being able to move large, heavy objects weighing up to 50-75 pounds.
· Be able to work weekends and/or holidays during snow events as needed.
· Ability to interact and communicate professionally, efficiently, and clearly with guests, residents, staff, and management.
· Must have computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office. Must be able to learn how to use other programs such as Yardi. Must be able to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.
· Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
