Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of a Master’s degree in Chemistry or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate credit hours in Chemistry
• Must have exhibited the ability to work well with students and colleagues

Preferred Qualifications

• College teaching experience

Essential Functions

• Teach a combination of lectures and labs
• Maintain lab equipment
• Order supplies and develop a curriculum
• May be asked to oversee the activities of certain labs
• Will be encouraged to teach at least one summer semester each year for additional pay
• Demonstrate innovative ideas in education
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
• Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
• The person in this position needs to move to other locations on campus occasionally
• Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
• Use of manual dexterity
• The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
• Frequently moves equipment or paperwork weighing up to 25 pounds
• Office, classroom, and laboratory setting

Security Sensitivity- All Midland College positions are security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. An employment offer is contingent on completion of a satisfactory criminal background investigation.

Min Salary- $53,954 per year

Max Salary- $65,944 per year

Pay Statement- Salary is commensurate with educational qualifications and experience.
